Introduction

1. I must know my heart

As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart

Proverbs 27:19
  • Why I say the things I do. “The mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” Matt 12:242.
  • Why I feel the way I do. “God’s word examines the thoughts and motives of the heart.” Heb4:1-23.
  • Why I act the way I do. “Guard your heart — for out of it flow the actions of life.” Prov. 4:23

2. When I use my heart the way God made me, passion comes naturally

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” Col 3:23

How do you know when you’re working from your heart?

1. I know because I am enjoying what I do

“My heart took delight in all my labor,”

Eccl. 2:10

Universal truth: Most People today don’t succeed at what they don’t like.

2. When I use my “God-Heart” I exhibit passion

God is the author of passion
Satan is the author of paralysis of emotions and feelings

3. I can know I am using the heart god made when I do my best

A more passionate heart starts…

1. Looking at your daily commitment to Christ

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:” Psalms 3:4-5

2. Look at your life and review the things you were passionate about

  • Ask a couple of questions: What fascinates me? What do I really love to do?
  • Galatians 6:4 “Everyone should examine his own conduct, then he will be able to take the measure of his own worth, no need to compare himself to others.”

3. Step out in faith

“Be bold and strong! Banish fear and doubt! For remember, the Lord is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

3 passion killers

  1. The fear of ridicule.
  2. The fear of failure
  3. The fear of the unknown

Today’s sermon: Find out what you love to do that God made you to do and do it for His glory
