Green, Red, Gold: Red

Green, Red, Gold: Red

Genesis 3:1-4 – “Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said
to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” 2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” 4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman.
Genesis 3:5-7 – “5 For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they
sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.”

The Cycle of Separation

1. Deception

Revelation 12:9, “And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.” John 8:44, Satan is described as the Father of Lies. 1 Peter 5:8, we read, “… Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

    Deuteronomy 30:19

“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore, choose life, that you and your offspring may live.”

“Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.”

    Sir Walter Scott

    2. Decision

    • Romans 3:23, “all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.”
    • Isaiah 53:6 – “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way;”

    3. Devastation

    • Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death.” Ezekiel 18:20 – “The soul who sins shall die.”
    • Galatians 6:8 — “For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.”
