FIXED: Run the Race

Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

Hebrews 12:2

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Hebrews 12:1-3

THE RACE IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS:

1. It’s not a direction; it’s a person.
2. It’s not an unknown destination; it’s a known person.”

WHAT IS THE RACE?

The race is to be like Jesus

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE RUN?

When we run, the Word comes alive.

PUTTING IT INTO PRACTICE:

Living like Jesus is the race, and once we run, the Holy Spirit wants to meet us
on the road to give us power and give us transformation to finish the only race that matters!

We must run!

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25

I know what happens when I’m on the road in the race = I AM TRANSFORMED
