Follow: We are Ambassadors

“We are Christ’s ambassadors”. 1 Corinthians 5:10

My role as an ambassador

I am a representative of Jesus in the world

• “Be sure that you live in a way that brings honor to the Good News of Christ.” Philippians 1:27
• “Live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” Ephesians 4:1
• “God saved us and called us to be his own people, not because of what we have done but because of his own grace and purpose “ 2 Timothy 1:9

Look at our callings: Follow, Follow, Follow

• Romans 1:7 “We’re called to be his people.”
• John 15, “We’re called to be God’s friends.”
• 1 Corinthians 1, “We’re called to be holy.”
• 2 Corinthians 5, “We’re called to speak for Christ.”
• Galatians 5, “We’re called to serve each other.”
• Colossians 3, “We’re called to live in peace.”

Look at our callings: Follow, Follow, Follow

• Romans 8:29 “We’re called to become like Jesus for God’s purpose.”
• 1 Peter 2, “We’re called to suffer for him.”
• 1 Peter 3, “We’re called to bless those who curse us.”
• 1 Timothy 1 “We’re called to eternal life.
• 2 Thessalonians 2 “We’re called to share his glory.”

I am sent on a mission

“In the same way that you, Father, gave me a mission in the world, I give them a mission in the world.” John
17:18

“I don’t care about my own life. The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the
Lord Jesus gave me—to tell people the Good News about God’s grace.” Acts 20:24

I have been given authority

Jesus said, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore go to all peoples everywhere
and make them my disciples: baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and
teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always…”Matthew
28:18-20

I serve in a foreign culture

“If you call God your Father, live your time as temporary residents on earth.”1 Peter 1:17

“…all that other people think about is life here on earth. But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives.” Philippians 3:19-20

My Responsibilities As An Ambassador

Set an example

“People who do not believe are living all around you and might say you are doing wrong. So live such good lives that they will see the good things you do and will give glory to God…” 1 Peter 2:12

Why don’t people know the Lord?

• They have never met a Christian.
• They have met a Christian.
